Morning Game Drive in Nairobi National Park

It had been a while since I was surrounded by spots and stripes in the wild side of Nairobi. So despite the weather not being the best for wildlife photography, I decided to take a morning game drive.

Gabor and I started early, meeting at the main NNP gate at 6am. The idea was to shoot together, learn from each other and spot some lions.

We spotted this trio between markers 5 and 6. We trailed them for a bit before they disappeared into the bushes.

Next were some taller mammals that couldn’t hide behind any bush.

Across the bridge, there’s no more sorrow…. I can’t remember the last time I saw zebra this side of the SGR.

Our last big sighting was a pair of lions at marker 4 towards Wilson.

In our 4-hour game drive, Gabor and I spotted 6 lions, and countless giraffe, zebra and impala.

I hope to do an afternoon game drive soon to catch the beauty of the evening light in Nairobi National Park.

  1. Love the beauty of the Savannah grassland. Thanks for sharing such beauty with us.
Also just thought of how I once read a lion can sleep 23 hours in a day and only hunt for an hour 🙄, one of those lions looks like such a culprit 🤣🤣

    1. Thanks for your kind words. I have no idea how lions are considered kings yet they sleep a lot of the time. A petition should be sent to the UN
