All the Buzz About eBee

If you’ve spotted a courier on a bicycle moving really fast without breaking a sweat – they were most likely on an eBee – a Kenyan-built e-bike that is disrupting two wheeled transport and delivery as we know it. I had the opportunity to take photos of their Nyuki One bike last October and this was my experience.

The team at eBee suggested we shoot at the Nairobi Railway Museum. They could not have picked a better time or location.

October – November is when the jacarandas are in full bloom in Kenya. I used this shoot to celebrate the occasion.

Talk about nature providing the perfect backdrop!

For this shoot, we had Nadiah Omondi and Newton Gitonga as the models, Sara Rukwaro on make up (she also does cakes BtW) and Shawna Kyalo as the photography assistant.

After shooting within the Museum grounds, we moved to Station Road where the jacarandas had their moments to shine.

The Nyuki One works amazingly well as a courier bike. Newton had an easy time cycling around Nairobi streets for these shots.

The eBee battery can be charged with your regular power source.

You can find out more about eBee on their website.
