Spots and Stripes in the Wildlife Capital

Nairobi is the only place you can go from zebra crossing, to zebra crossing, making it the world’s wildlife capital.

Francuso, Fady and myself share a passion for storytelling through photography. Yesterday, we exercised our passion during a morning game drive in Nairobi National Park.

The first sighting for the day was Nguruman, NNP’s famed resident leopard.

Leopard sightings are rare, so spotting one in Nairobi was a stroke of immense favour for me.

Shortly, he was gone. Nguruman disappeared into the thicket near No. 3 and that was the last we saw of him.

Despite NNP having over 30 resident lions, spotting them isn’t a guarantee. Getting to capture them with the Nairobi skyline in the background was another stroke of immense favour. This was near No. 5.

The more we drove in the Park, the more it gave us.

As for the status of the elevated SGR track, it appears very complete. We even spotted a train doing what looked like a test run on it.

The wildlife and tourists seem to have adapted to the new look of NNP.

That’s it for today.

Make a point to visit NNP soon.

Thanks.
