It had been five months since I’d been on a OnetouchLive and my body showed it. There was greying around my trigger finger, with the occasional shivering of the skin around the elbows whenever I saw an overland truck on the highway.

Lake Nakuru Flood
Lake Nakuru is known the world over as a sanctuary for hundreds of bird species. It has over the years been the place where birdlife photographers come to make a name for themselves. But in recent months, water levels have risen to levels not seen in 60 years.
#OnetouchLive Amboseli – Part 2
Let’s pick up where we left off last week. As a recap, we had an exciting game drive on Sunday evening, capped by Kilimanjaro’s snow cap (see what I did there?) and a glorious sunset.

#OnetouchLive Amboseli – Part 1
Last weekend, we took our second photographic road trip of the year as Onetouch. We had chosen Amboseli National Park as our destination and crossed out two days and one night in our calendars for the adventure. After invites on social media, we had two vans with 16 photography lovers buckled up and ready to …
The return from Sibiloi
About two weeks ago, I shared about my trip to Turkana in October. You can read about it here and here. The trip was an 8-day one to witness the eclipse. Thinkers from around the globe had said Allia Bay on the shores of Lake Turkana was the best place to view the eclipse from …
Travelling Marsabit to Sibiloi
This October, after many years of waiting and one failed attempt, I finally got to travel to northern Kenya thanks to Safari Desk. See part one of my journey here. Northern Kenya holds a beauty you won’t find anywhere else in the region. This is the one place you will struggle to get out of …
Travelling Nairobi to Marsabit
Towards the end of October this year, I embarked on a road trip to northern Kenya. My last attempt to head north was in 2006 when the April rains rendered the place totally inaccessible by road. Seven years later, thanks to Safari Desk, I buckled up in a Gametrackers overland truck and it was ‘Turkana or …
Visiting Samburu National Park
Travel and photography have taken me to many parts of Kenya. From the ice caps of Mt Kenya to the shores of Lake Victoria; from the Aberdare highlands to the slavery caves in Shimoni; but never to northern Kenya. It has been the last frontier in my mission to capture and share the beauty that …
Bora Bora Beach Volleyball
Last September, together with nine Onetouch photographers and cinematographers, I went on a 4,000km photographic road trip from Nairobi to Bujumbura. When we got to Bujumbura, we really looked down on the city, until we got to its beaches which are some of the finest inland in Africa. We got to Bora Bora and experienced …
#OnetouchLive Goes Liquid
Our #OnetouchLive photographic road trip took us from Nairobi, across Kenya, traversing Uganda and Rwanda up to Bujumbura on the shores of Lake Tanganyika. By the time we got to Bujumbura, we were very tired after taking photos over over 2,000+ kms.
#OnetouchLive – Nyungwe Forest Lodge
In September 2013, I joined nine other photographers and cinematographers for a 4,000km photographic road trip from Nairobi to Bujumbura and back. This was a scouting mission of sorts to see if Africa is truly what we have been told it is. Check out #OnetouchLive on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram to see what we found.
Nairobi National Park
Its amazing what we have in the backyard of this great city we call Nairobi – the only capital with a National Park! Spent a couple of hours there two weeks ago hoping to spot the lions but wasn’t successful. I did however have a great time there despite getting lost for several minutes while …
Ol Pejeta Wildlife
This week, allow me to take you back to the largest black rhino sanctuary in East Africa and the only place you can see chimpanzees in Kenya.
Mt Kenya Sunrise
I spent four years schooling on the slopes of Mt Kenya and I can’t recall mustering the courage to brave the morning chill to get a glimpse of the sunrise over Kenya’s highest mountain. The blankets were either too heavy or a certain magnetic force always pinned me down to my bed around sunrise.
Ol Pejeta Elephants
My fascination with elephants continues this week after an encounter with several while at Ol Pejeta Conservancy last week.
