If one could bottle the sensation of a trouncing home victory and sell it by the gram… Heh, wacha tu!
Kenya went into the game knowing they had to prove to their home fans that they are worth every decibel of celebratory shout they had received during their CHAN games.
And prove their worth they did.
Getting Ready
Kasarani Stadium was not at capacity. But for a Tuesday evening game, this was a very big crowd.

First Half
Seychelles only serious threat to the Kenyan defence came in the opening minutes.
After that, Kenya took control of the game and in the 7th minute, Ryan Wesley Ogam Rabok sent the ball past Seychelles’ keeper Romeo Padayachy.

From after the first goal, the hunger for more was insatiable.
Seychelles had many incomplete passes that Kenya took advantage of.

In the 35th minute, Collins Lusaka Sichenje made it 2-0 for Kenya.

Three minutes later, Ryan Wesley Ogam Rabok scored his second goal, taking Kenya up 3 – 0!

Three minutes into extra time, Ryan was brought down in the penalty box. The linesman called for a penalty. Seychelles appealed but it was clear to all that Don Fanchette was on the wrong.

Captain Michael Olunga Ogada stepped up to the task at hand and made it 4 – 0 to Kenya in the fifth minute of extra time.

Second Half
The Seychelles defence was tighter in the second half allowing them to concede only one goal – a header from Captain Michael Olunga Ogada.

Coach Benny McCarthy
Football truly unites people. Kenya’s coach Benny McCarthy helped some Seychelles players with water when they asked. Great sportsmanship.

Final Score
The game ended 5 – 0 in favour of Kenya, kicking off an evening of emphatic celebrations.
