Guys, MAC have been officially in Kenya since last year (the ladies already knew this). No, not the Steve Jobs people – the leading cosmetics brand in the world (the ladies already knew this too!) It’s like the Merc of cosmetics (you saw that, right?)
They called me to capture the moments as they launched their store at Garden City Mall in Nairobi in August. Guests were given the full MAC experience which meant that they got to try out different products before making their purchase decision. It’s like driving into Shell and getting a full tank of V-Power to test how your car performs without having to pay for it. Get my drift? (I did it again).
Enough of the wordplay. Here are the photos.
The lighting in the store was good enough for me to shoot without using a flash, which I find kills the mood by whitening the colours. I shot using the 70-200mm f/2.8L, 16-35mm f/2.8L and my faithful 7D.
The 70-200mm f/2.8L performs amazingly in low light, allowing me to capture moments like this unobtrusively.
There were lip cutouts which guests made good use of. These added a lot of pizzazz to the event.
