Nyungwe Forest is located in southwestern Rwanda towards the border with Burundi, and is one of the best protected forests in Africa. According to Wikipedia, Nyungwe contains 13 different primate species (25% of Africa’s total), 275 bird species, 1,068 plant species, 85 mammal species, 32 amphibian and 38 reptile species.
I got to visit it together with eight other humans of the photography species during our Nairobi to Bujumbura road trip and while there, stayed at the amazing Nyungwe Forest Lodge. It is the best place to stay when visiting the forest.
Enjoy this view of Nyungwe Forest as your wallpaper this week.
