It’s been a while since I blogged a wedding so this post is special in many ways.
First, because it is a come-back post to a photography genre that I love, and secondly, because it’s was my first wedding for 2013.
Kris and I were buddies in high school and have managed to keep in touch over the years – almost twenty of them!
He called me last year and asked me to capture the glorious moments as he got married to Nyambura and I quickly accepted. I knew it wasn’t possible to capture the entire day by myself so I called upon the talents of Allan Gichigi, Helen Kinuthia and Wamuyu Kiragu. Click on their names to see their impressive work. It was great shooting seamlessly as a team but it seems we were quite trigger happy on the day as we shot over 4,000 photos, which, as any photographer will tell you, is a lot of photos.
Not for Kris and Nyambura though – they both love photos and were happy to have them all!
Here’s how the day was, as told not in 4,000 but 28 photos, which, going by this blog’s standards, is a lot of photos.
Wamuyu and I started the day in Kikuyu where Nyambura was getting ready for her big day.
Allan and Helen were with Kris on the other side of Nairobi in Lavington.
I don’t think Allan and Helen indulged.
The men had a pre-ceremony shoot at the Norfolk…
…and the ladies too! I loved their polka dotted dresses! Very fun and original.
Nyambura loves to laugh. And Kris made sure she had many moments to do so.
With this ring…
Let the celebrations begin!!
The best man was Kris’ brother.
Pastor Karanja delivers the final benediction…
…allowing Kris and Nyambura to dance off in style!
The wedding ceremony and reception were held at the Intercontinental.
Before the reception, we returned to the Norfolk for some more shots.
Nyambura getting down with her grandma was quite a moment.
I need to be carrying more business cards to weddings – all those ladies awaiting the bouquet are potential clients!
Congratulations Kris and Nyambura! May God’s blessings abide in your union.
I love the side mirror shot as well as the one where she’s about to throw the bouquet, fantastic timing. Good work!
Thanks Wangui!
Your work Mwarv is exceptional, i know this couple and you brought out the magic in them
Obviously a “fun” couple.
& once again, you captured the amazing moments. Good job!
