The little-known village of Katsangani is located about 80km north of Malindi, and 30 minutes inland on a boda boda.
It is an island in the Tana delta and for the longest time, palm wine brewing was its main economic activity. In the past couple of years, a group of fearless influencers from Mavuno Church helped rally the residents into melon farming with bountiful results.
I spent several days in Katsangani in 2010 and 2011 doing ministry work with Discovery Africa interns from Mavuno Church. It was great witnessing God at work as demons were cast out and people gave their lives to Christ. Not to discount these, but my highlight was in 2010 when we prayed for a mute and deaf and they received instant healing before our very eyes.
