Pope Francis’ Kasarani Address

Before departing for Uganda, Pope Francis addressed Kenya’s youth at Safaricom Stadium Kasarani. The youth came from all over by school bus, matatus and on foot. It’s good that schools are closed so there was no hindrance for many who wanted to see and hear from the Pope who loves the youth.

The Pope’s address was to start at 10am but as early as 7am, many were already arriving at the Stadium.

I thought the address was to be at the Indoor Arena. Having it in the main Stadium was definitely a good choice because it was the ideal place to host so many youth who turned up.

President Uhuru Kenyatta arrived first. The super sanguine in him couldn’t resist gotearing wasee.

One of the highlights of Pope Francis’ address was when he asked us all to hold hands, as a sign of unity despite our differences in belief, religion and tribe. It was a powerful moment.
