Juliani’s Na3 Concert

His energy on stage is infectious and his music continues playing in your head long after it’s over. He is one of Kenya’s greatest entertainers and comes top of my list, together with The Villagers Band. Missing an opportunity to see him on stage is something I’d regret so even if it was a Sunday evening after a busy weekend out of town, I had to carry my tired body to City Hall Way for Juliani’s Na3 Concert. The main concert started a couple of hours after the advertised time which helped me not miss any of the performers.

One of my highlights of the evening was watching and listening to Recapp. I’d never heard them before and they were nothing short of brilliant doing acappella versions of some of Juliani’s hits.

At the end of his performance, Juliani called on other musicians to freestyle to ‘Shuka Roho’. Kaka Sungura was first on stage.

In my opinion, Willy Paul had the best message in his freestyle. With all the rumours about his character, he asked the audience to just let him praise God. We cheered him on.

Thanks Juliani for giving me the opportunity to praise God in head bopping, thought-provoking hip-hop.

Wow…awesome work. The other guy in the pic with Emmanuel Mwongela (Recapp) is Didi (Kelele Takatifu) not Ted Askoye and Xtiandela is the fellow next to Size 8. You should teach me a few skills; Your pictures are always on point:-)
