Shooting for Goshen Acquisitions in Kariunga

One of the things I love about photography is the ability to combine it with travel, which is another of my passions. So when I was told about the opportunity to travel to Nanyuki and shoot for Goshen Acquisition’s investment brief, I was super elated. Plus, there was the opportunity to put the Phantom 2 to work. I was like ‘Let’s do this!’

Goshen Acquisitions are into strategic land investments. As a prospective client, they show you actual photos of the land you will be investing in, not images lifted off the internet. We shot the following images on two trips to the land in Kariunga, about 15km north-west of Nanyuki.

On the first day, we found the roads being graded for easy access to the different plots.

That’s the view we had of Mt Kenya from the land.

To get a good look of the land and the graded road, we had to shoot aerials. Those concrete poles along the road are beacons identifying the different land parcels.

On the second visit, we hoped to shoot the land in the sunset light but found it to be very cloudy. We still managed to get these closeups of the beacons.

Each beacon has a plot number so there’s no confusion about the parcel you’re purchasing.

The following morning, I was up before sunrise and after blowing some warm air into my freezing hands, we got down to shooting.

wow!! Even though I was there for the 1st day’s shoot with you, always blows my mind each time I see your handiwork Mwarv. You truly are gifted, and I am most grateful for your helping us share the amazing opportunities in Kariunga, Nanyuki.

Another trip needed soon, since we are now grading and fencing some of the plots. Looking forward to it brother!!
