Nairobi by Night

Nairobi is a city that without much effort manages to be beautiful no matter what time of day you visit it. The way people from very different places on the planet interact and punctuate the city’s architecture creates scenes begging to be photographed, from sunrise to sunrise.

Last week, I was privileged to join a group of photographers on a mission to document Nairobi’s beauty after sunset.

We started off at Wabera Street just before it got totally dark.

I just love the blues in the sky around 7pm. I seek to capture these every time I shoot at night.

This is where Wabera Street shakes Kenyatta Avenue’s hand.

I was shooting with well connected photographers who managed to get us access to Lonrho House’s roof top from where I had to overcome serious vertigo to shoot the following images.

The reflection of Sarova Stanley’s pool on Lonrho House was worth the shaking in my bones as I took this.

To prove that I was up here, Mutua Matheka took this shot of me. Profile pic pap!
