African Screens 44 – Nairobi Reflections

I hope your week is off to a good start.

This week’s wallpaper comes at a time we in Kenya are reflecting on the state of security in our nation. There’s been bombings, shootings and threats of more to come.

I have a firm belief that no SMS or news report can shake: that I won’t exit earth until I have accomplished all that God set aside for me to accomplish for Africa. So in the midst of all the insecurity, I choose to believe different.

When al Shabab say ‘Avoid crowded places’ God says, ‘Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid, do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.’ Joshua 1 : 9 NIV

When al Shabab say, ‘Be afraid, be very afraid’, remember ‘God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self control.’ 2 Timothy 1 : 7 NIV

When terrorists say ‘Your God will not save you’ God declares ‘Because he loves me, I will rescue him; I will protect him, for he acknowledges my Name. He will call on me, and I will answer him, I will be with him in trouble, I will deliver him and honour him. With long life I will satisfy him and show him My salvation.’ Psalm 91: 14 – 16 NIV

Have a safe and blessed week!
