African Screens 06 – Lake Bogoria Tree

Hope your week has started off well whichever part of the world you are in. Here in Kenya, we are experiencing winter chills and can’t wait for the sun to return from vacation.

This week’s wallpaper goes to prove that even in the dry and dusty times, Africa is still a beautiful place. It was shot during a dust storm near Lake Bogoria in Kenya’s Rift Valley in April 2012. It was my first time in a dust storm and I wanted to experience it first hand. Parked by the side of the road waiting for the storm to clear as visibility was almost nil, I held my breath as I got out of the car and saw this tree standing bravely in the middle of an open field. As the wind howled and blew fine sand particles into my half-shut eyes, I took my camera from under my tee and shot the tree.

Hope you enjoy the wallpaper as much as I enjoyed being in the middle of a dust storm.

“….another one bite the dust…..” Was it you or the tree that did the latter?
    Great Shot!
