Joyce and Jonas’ Wedding

I met Joyce and Jonas about a week to their wedding. All the communication between us for about six months had been on email and telephone. Yet when we met, it was like we’d been meeting every week!

Well, as we found out, Joyce and I had met before. She visited this blog when looking for a wedding photographer, saw my picture and knew we had met before – maybe in college – but it wasn’t so. She was Stage Manager on a couple of Heartstrings’ shows and I did shoot a couple so that was it.

Allan and I were given full creative license when shooting Joyce and Jonas’ big day, and had Oscar (@gatamah) on hand to assist. We were excited and held nothing back. Joyce and Jonas told us that despite booking Windsor for their photo session, they weren’t too keen on having their pictures taken in gardens so Allan and I suggested a bus stop. “Perfect!” was their response.

We picked the rusty bus stop outside Ridgeways Mall. God favoured us that there was a lady with a kiosk nearby who was so gracious as to allow us to shoot at hers. The Star Bus was on hire for a different function and had bored passengers inside. They were thrilled and cheered at Joyce and Jonas’ public displays of affection, something they’d only seen on TV. After the reception, we returned to the Windsor for a few more shots.

On the wedding day, J&J were so in love it appeared they were in a world of their own. You could tell it from the look in their eyes, a random kiss here and there, smiles and winks that spoke love in all languages.

I’m amazed and puzzled at these shots, Did you just stop at some random Kiosk? Did you stop some random mat? Ingenious mwarv.

Hi James. Joyce and Jonas wanted something different so on the morning of the wedding, I saw this kiosk when heading to the bride’s place and when we stopped there on the way to the reception, they both loved it. The mathree had been at the stage for a while with passengers headed elsewhere. They were quite excited when Joyce and Jonas kissed!
