Hilda and Melvin’s Wedding
Shooting weddings is as much a privilege as it is a responsibility given to you by the couple.
For starters, the bride and groom open up their lives and give you unrestricted access on the most important day of their lives, then gently place on your laps you the huge responsibility of capturing the day in a way that will be memorable to them. As a wedding photographer, your role ends up being as important as that played by the best couple.
I met Hilda in 2007. I had just done Mizizi and I’d been picked to be an understudy in the next class which she took. Towards the end of 2011, she shared the news of her engagement to Melvin whom I knew as a Mavunite, and they picked me to shoot their very colourful wedding.
I shot this with Njeri (@SunnyLikeNjeri). Its always a joy shooting with her for the extra pizzazz she brings to wedding shoots.
