David and Shiru’s Engagement
This is the first engagement shoot I’ve done and wasn’t it fun!
My first encounter with this lovely couple was at All That Jazz’s December 2011 show at Tribe Hotel. Aaron and his band stopped play as David got on stage and before the entire audience, proposed to Shiru, who accepted to marry him, much to the delight of the applauding audience. I won’t even tell you the pressure he put on all guys who were there with their ladies – you could taste it in their eyes as the clapping subsided and the show continued.
We picked Jockey Club for their engagement shoot because this is where they’ll be having their wedding later this year. So this doubled up as a venue familiarisation tour which is very important before shooting any event. We met there on a Sunday afternoon after attending Mavuno Church and shot away.
Special thanks to my cousin Maggie who was my assistant for the day.
